TED

While I'm not sure what exactly the TED Award honors, I do know that the pictures James Nachtwey were extremely powerful images, the kind you might see on some LIFE magazine spread or the kind you might think of when the horrors of warfare subject comes up. Of course, all of the images were powerful, but extremely depressing. Maybe it was his presentation, but I think he should have focused on the rising-up against a war torn society, even if the residents caught in between are trapped within it. Some people are born into that life, and so they have to make the best of it of course. I'm sure there have to be some moments of laughter or hope, he should have had these in his presentation as well. Sure he showed people getting treated in hospitals, but they still seemed to be screaming in pain. Maybe I am just being a little too optimistic for these people who are doomed no matter what they do, it's all just part of making myself feel comfortable in the midst of tragedy.
